Wee Little Giveaway Results

Yep......still reading those Scottish Mysteries. The author is Stuart MacBride and I have read the first 2 in his series and started on the 3rd last night. If anyone is looking for a good gritty "police procedural" you will like these books a lot. Definitely not a cosy mystery though.

Goldens and Socks :-(

I wanted to jot a quick note to let those of you who are waiting for packages from me know that I will get them in the mail tomorrow. My beautiful, but not the "sharpest knife in the drawer" golden Brodie is at the doggie doctors after spending the night at the Emergency Vet last night. He somehow ate another sock ( or something) and it just isn't passing.He has already had 2 surgeries for this problem......we watch him we really do, but he somehow got hold of something that he is having problems passing. Please keep your fingers crossed that he won't have to have surgery. He is almost 7 years old and probably will never outgrow this obsession with eating things he isn't supposed to.

I will do the random generator for this last giveaway tomorrow.

Another Wee little Giveaway

Can you tell that I have been reading Scottish Mysteries lately? ;-)

Here is the first giveaway.....squares that have been completed using Prairie Paisley by Moda and 1/2 yard of the red fabric and 1 yard of the blue.
This is fabric left over from the "Allspice Tapestry" by FigTree quilt that I made a couple of months ago. There should be enough to make a coin quilt. Some of the squares have been sewn from the last quilt that I did and will need to be taken apart.

Basket of Colors for Sale

I have this basket of fatquarters and some 1/2 yards for sale. I used to do a lot of applique which is why I have so many solids and semi solids here. Some of the fabric may be cut into , but not too many. There are 58 pieces of fabrics and I would like to sell them for $40 plus shipping if anyone is interested. I will stuff them into the smallest flat rate box that I can. SOLDOr, if you would like just a color bundle.....please make me an offer.



I have lots of fabric that I am going to put up for sale tomorrow......mainly Moda for $4.50 a yard. Boy, did I go crazy buying fabric the last year or so. ;-)

I also have 2 more little things for another giveaway that I will post later tonight.

My sewing room is looking great and I feel more in control of my stash. LOL

Thank you for all the visits to my blog.....I am really enjoying reading about everyone's favorite fabric colors. I will draw a name on Monday, but I have been doing some cleaning and organizing so I have a little more stuff for a few more giveaways and then some Moda Yardage and Fatquarters for sale at 1/2 off and lower on regular prices.

I am funny about how I have to have my sewing room all organized and not have excess stuff around. I am not normally like that except my kitchen and then my classrooms when I taught school.

No sewing going on today,just a little cleaning and then reading.

Another Giveaway

I want to have another little giveaway because I just love having them! This is an older line of Moda-"Spring Meadow" and 2 additional yards for borders and binding.Also included in the book "Material Obsession" which is definitely eye candy!

A finish and an almost finish

I finished quilting the whirlygig quilt and am getting ready to watch some saved "The Closer" programs and stitch the binding on. Something fun to do on another hot day. The fabric is Arcadia from Moda. Close up of the meandering quilting.....much easier to do and easier on the hands than the circles were. My longarm is very smooth, but weighs 75 lbs so that may be why my wrists and hands were a little sore when quilting my last quilt.
Wild binding to use......I didn't have any yardage to match this quilt so I just picked out what Ithought would work. It is so soft......why are some fabrics so soft and others not so much so? I have even noticed it with Moda lines.
My coin quilt finished, washed and in all its crinkly glory! And crinkly it is! But it covers the old feet...yah!! Meant to show the binding which is scrappy using the leftover fatquarters of this collection.

If it's not a coin quilt then it must be a.........

..... whirlygig quilt!  I really have my favorites don't I?  I think that whirlygigs look so neat while showing off the fabric which to me is what a quilt is all about.

I am doing a little different quilting this time on my new coin quilt. I think it is called pebbles.  It is making for denser quilting, which is going take much longer.  I really like a simple meander best, but wanted to try something new.  Does anyone know if denser quilting makes a quilt heavier?

The fabric is "Mezzanine" by Patty Young.  It was a "must have" when I saw it in the Fatquarter Shop.

Getting Ready for a Baby Shower

I made these daisy cupcakes and had to show a picture. They turned out really cute.   I used yummy buttercream frosting with vanilla that I splurged on at Sur La Table.

Here is the baby quilt that I asked advice on......thank you everyone.  I think that it turned out nicely.
A little diaper/ wipe holder for her diaper bag.  I had lots of fun with this! I am going to make more to hold notepads.

Some baby bibs that I made that match the quilt that I am giving her. The above quilt will be from my Mom.
I had to make this one because I LOVE this fabric.  It is called "Starling" by Michael Miller.  I feed the birds year round and have so much trouble in the summer with the starlings eating all the seed and suet. LOL They can wipe out a suet cake in a day.
I am sort of tired now and plan to do nothing this evening but  watch "Shark Week" on Discovery Channel and go to bed early so I can read  The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton, an excellent Australian author.

A Few Quilt Pictures......


This is the only quilt that I have made using a magazine pattern.
This is not a good picture at all.  Didn't want to tire my quilt holder out!  That's my excuse and I am sticking it to it.
