One of my favorite quilts

I wanted to post a picture of one of my favorite quilts and quilt patterns. The fabric is by Kansas Troubles for Moda and the pattern is by Atkinson Designs. It uses a jelly roll and then background fabric so it is an economical quilt to make with lots of punch!
Have a great weekend......it is going to be in the 90's this weekend in Midlothian, Va. Yuck! Too soon for such temperatures.

Finished Baby Quilt

I finished my first baby quilt for etsy. I have another one to quilt and 3 lap sized ones already finished. Not the best pictures.....I did an overall meander and washed it to get that crinkly goodness. It really soften it.

New Tote

I worked in my sewing room today and made a beach tote for my daughter. I used Amy Butler fabric and just had enough to finish. I even put binding on the pockets. I usually do wrap around pockets but didn't have enough fabric this time. She will still have room for cell phone, sunglasses, etc.
I am finishing up a few quilts and have decided to try and sell them on etsy. We shall see how sucessful I will be.

Can't stop starting quilts!

I keep telling myself (others too) that I am not going to start something new until I get most of my WIPs finished. Ha Ha!! That's pretty funny now that I typed that. ;-) But I just can't seem to stop starting new projects. I just love the feeling of cutting into fabric and making it into something. So, I started a new quilt for my daughter. I am keeping it simple with Sawtooth blocks sewn together and a border using all the fabrics sewn into strips. I am using a layer cake from Moda called Soiree. I must have looked at this line for weeks before I finally pushed the buy button. It is just beautiful and I knew that I would regret not buying it if I didn't.

Take care, Cathy

Must listen to...so beautiful and inspiring

I read about Susan Boyle on several quilting blogs today and wanted to pass the message on. I must have listened to youtube 10 times and got chills and tears in my eyes each time.

Very well worth your time!

Quilting will be back soon. I caved and started a new quilt. So much for getting WIPs done.

Box bags and key fobs

I made this box bag to put my niece's birthday gift in.....she seemed to like it a lot. I then made my daughter a new key fob and one for the birthday girl also. My monogramming is off because I need to recalibrate my Bernina 430. Of course I don't know how to do it so I need to start doing some research. LOL The computer program for the embroidery module is so picky that it took way too long to do these little monograms. It's user error I know but it's still picky. ;-)

Binding Time

I put on my headphones and sang to songs on my ipod ( poor dogs) and stayed in my sewing room until I finished quilting this quilt. It is ready for binding as is this one that I finished quite a while ago. Time to get sewing. I like binding but I need to find a thimble or something to help keep my fingers from getting so sore.

The sun finally came out , but I have to go get a mammogram so I will miss most of it. I am pretty nervous because my Mother was diagnosed with breast cancer last fall. She is finished with radiation and is doing great so early detection is the best. Thing is I haven't been in a while....dumb me I know.

Selling on Etsy?

I have a lot of time on my hands and would like to make a little extra money. I thought about selling these boxes on Etsy. They would be custom of course. I was wondering if anyone has had experience with Etsy and do you think that monogramed boxes like these might sell?

I searched fabric boxes for sale and didn't see anything like these. This one is 4"by 4" but I usually make them 5"by 5". I have made then larger to keep quilt binding supplies in. I would love any input please.
Thank you,
Cathy
